Summary
The Otago Nuggets have copped a heavy defeat in their second matchup with the Southland Sharks this season, going down by 37 points in a dominant performance by the opposition.
It was a slow start for the Nuggets in Invercargill, struggling to find their rhythm offensively while the opposition piled on 34 points in the term.
The defensive struggles continued in the second term, being outscored heavily again to finish the half down 23 points.
The wheels continued to fall off in the third, with the Nuggets managing just 11 points in one of their worst quarters of the season while the Sharks had another 30+ point quarter.
With the game out of reach, the final term saw an opportunity for some of the young Otago Nuggets cohort to get some solid court time.
Grant Anticevich was the oppositions best with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
Michael Harris top scored for the Nuggets with 21 points, extending his 20+ point streak to seven games.
Sam Timmins had 15 points and 3 blocks.
