Summary

The Otago Nuggets have gone down to the Manawatu Jets in a tight battle at Fly Palmy Central Energy Trust Arena. Stops were hard to come by in the first quarter with both the Nuggets and the Jets trading buckets early.  

The Nuggets stepped it up in the second, outscoring the opposition and taking a two-point lead into the half. In a true back and forth battle, the two sides were difficult to separate in the second half.  

Trading leads throughout the periods, and just one point in it with a minute and a half to go, the Jets crowd rallied for their team and the side responded to control the last minute of the game to win by five points. 

The loss is the fourth in a row for the Nuggets, but they won’t have too long to stew on it with less than 24 hours until they meet the Wellington Saints.  

Michael Harris continued his scoring ways with 22 points. 

Todd Withers had 20 points for the night, including six three point makes.

Daniel Pippen II led the way for the opposition with 31 points and 9 rebounds.
