Presenting our 2024 coaching staff

The Otago Nuggets are delighted to welcome Dan Vlahov and Ben Peterson, and welcome back Sam Senior to make up our Assistant Coaching staff of 2024.

Dan Vlahov joins the Nuggets as an assistant coach from the Perth Wildcats where he holds the position of Video Coordinator. Dan has experience as an Assistant Coach for both Basketball WA and the Warwick Senators in the NBL1 West comp.

Ben Peterson joins the Otago Nuggets as Assistant Coach after spending the 2023 NBA Summer League as a Player Development Intern with the Philadelphia 76ers, and a season with the Perth Wildcats as an Assistant Video Coordinator.

We are thrilled also to welcome Assistant Coach Sam Senior back, an Otago local who is has been involved with the Nuggets for the past two seasons. Sam also coaches for the Waitaki Boys team in the Basketball Otago High School comp, and North Otago.

The team will be led once again by our Head Coach Brent Matehaere!
